Summer Time!

HELLO FRIENDS! IT'S SUMMER!!
Lately I've been alllllll over social media sites, so make sure you're keeping up with me! I have links to all my pages on the sidebar.
ALSO I know you all must be dying to hear all about my Fiji adventures, seeing as how I've been home for a little over a week now. No worries my lovelies, THE POSTS ARE ON THEIR WAY. I'm planning on doing a little series where I cover a few days within a single post and make the posts continuously throughout a week or two. But in order to do that I need to have the posts done and ready to upload. So be patient, I promise they will be up eventually. :)
I have lots in store for this summer. I hope you're ready for all the madness!

Prom Night

Every high schooler has high expectations for prom. Thanks to movies like Never Been Kissed, 10 Things I Hate About You, and She's All That. It's seen as the peak of ones high school career. The night of all glitz and glam. It's been made into this big thing with the perfect hair, the perfect dress, the perfect dinner, everything has to be perfect. It's an exciting thing to experience! My Senior prom was no different.

The day started with me getting up early and starting the whole getting ready routine. I showered and curled my hair, leaving it pinned up like a little old lady. I then headed Rachel's house where I did 3 girls hair and makeup (which was chaos). We ended up running behind schedule, so by the time we were done I had barely anytime to finish my own hair and do my makeup! In the end I managed to pull it off.

Dinner was at The Melting Pot. There was a big group of us which was fun, and let's be real.. the food was amazing!

The first course was an artichoke cheese dip (I'm actually drooling while typing this, oh man.)
The second course was a variety of meats and sauces. Mmmmm.
The third course was CHOCOLATE!!

The venue was the Blackstone Country Club. We walked up the brick walkways, through the big intricate gates and into the courtyard. Our eyes were met with tons of sparkling lights in the dark open sky. It was a moment just like in the movies. That moment of complete awe and admiration. I felt like I was a character in gossip girl. So put together and elegant.

When we arrived not many people were there yet, but more and more came throughout the night. We all hit the dance floor regardless, and if we weren't out dancing you'd find us at the refreshment bar. It really was the best of both worlds.

Here are some pictures that were taken throughout the night.

Truth is that the night ended before I was ready for it to. We danced, laughed, ate some crazy candies, and enjoyed every minute. In my opinion the night lived up to my teenage dream expectations. The only thing missing was a smokin hot date ;) but it was definitely fun being able to go and experience it with my gorgeous best friend. She brought so much joy to the night, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. It was the perfect way to end senior year.
Here's a short montage video of the night that I made to remember the night by: (Please excuse the poor film quality and my exotic screams and laughter)

I'm sure everyone would agree that it was an amazing night. One that we will all always remember. :)

Fun Shots

Yesterday Heather and I did a fun little photo shoot just for the heck of it. Here are some of my favorite shots I took of her. So gorgeous.

Hope y'all like them as much as I do. It was loads of fun. :) Here's some BTS.

RIP to the Memories

I recently went through a major heartbreak. Here's what happened.

The other night I was getting ready for bed, I had already taken my makeup off and put my pjs on, and was getting into bed. You all know me, I'm a big wimp, so as I turn my lamp off I run to my bed and jump in as fast as humanly possible. And as part of my nightly routine I sit in the dark on my ipod and take one last sweep around all my social media sites. This is when I realized the little red notification on my settings app. So I open the app and figure out that theres a new software for iOS 7.1.1. The little notification bubbles on the apps have always bugged me so I decided to update the software. After I had put in my password to give my approval, a loading page that said "Verifying authentication" or some shiz like that came up. After it had been on that page for a minute or two I came to the realization that this was gonna take quite a while, and I still had to set my alarm and go to bed as it was starting to get really late. So I powered my ipod off. Bad mistake. I then went to turn it back on to set my alarm and this popped up on the screen.

I had never seen this screen. So I nervously popped out of bed and ran down stairs wide eyed. I burst into my dads office and showed it to him. We sat there for a while trying all we could to be able to get back into my ipod. Nothing. I started losing hope and the tears started pouring out as I lost hope. I had so many different memories stored on that ipod that I didn't want to lose! My dad told me that he would continue to do what he could to figure it out, and sent me off to bed. Needless to say I cried myself to sleep taking deep breathes in between the sobs. After school the next day my dad informed me that there was no hope and that we were going to have to reset my ipod to factory settings. I readied myself and we did the deed. As I sniffled and sobbed of course. My ipod was connected to an icloud account but the storage had been full since February so it hadn't backed anything up since then. So I still have everything from December to halfway through February. But everything between then to now is lost forever. This includes pictures and videos from concerts and many other things.

May this be a lesson to everyone NEVER EVER BE AS STUPID AS ME AND TURN OFF YOUR PHONE OR IPOD DURING AN UPDATE.

Let this also teach us to live in the moment and enjoy things as they come rather than relying on documentation to remember everything for us. The memories you store can be taken away just like that. So live life and leave the electronics away.

One day when I'm old I'll forget about the memories that are gone from my ipod and those times and happenings will be lost forever. So RIP to the memories. May they rest in joy and peace.

Busy, Busy, Bee

Who knew Senior year was gonna be such a crazy year?! I certainly should have. Luckily it's all almost over. With cosmo and high school coming to an end there have been all sorts of things due. From portfolios, to research papers my brain is throbbing! Only about 35 days left. In my spare time I've been discovering myself and finding out what kind of person I really want to be, but also developing some bad habits. Lately especially I've been extremely lazy, living off of Netflix, and eating tons of food. I've been meaning to start some sort of fitness routine, but can't find the motivation in all the school crazy. Hopefully things will turn around after graduation.

An exciting date that is quickly nearing is June 3rd. The day I leave for Fiji. I will be there for a total of 17 days. It's going to be such an incredible experience, and will be like nothing I've ever done before. In August I'll also be going to Hawaii with my friends Heather and Rachel, which will be quite the adventure! I'm excited for all the traveling and I'm hoping I can do more within the next couple years.

As for everything that has happened since the last time I posted until now.... I've been to 3 concerts: Demi Lovato(w/ Little Mix and 5H), Foy Vance and another King the Kid show!

I actually met the lovely Foy Vance the night of his show (which ironically was on St. Patricks day), and had a nice chat with him. He's an amazing guy. :)

Here's a pic of Heather and I at the Demi concert, which was an absolute blast :)

Now. KTK and I have become considerably great friends. We hung out a ton the night of the show! After the show I had the opportunity to hang out with David, Ricky, and Jose in their RV and listen to some unreleased music (which was ACE).

LOVE MY BOYS

After seeing this picture Ricky called us the clique haha

Y'all really should check out their music on Itunes... you won't be disappointed.

Moving on, life has been pretty crazy. There has been some life changing things happening. I'm adapting and trying new things, and evolving as a person. I'm excited for the future and I hope you'll all stay tuned to experience it all with me. :)

I'm thinking of renovating my blog to match my changing style and personality... so next time you visit it will probably look very different! (unless it has already been changed by the time you've made it to this post.) haha

King the Kid

Okay before I get into this I quickly want to apologize bc I haven't posted in like 3 weeks... BUT here I am.

Over the summer I was obviously really lazy, and spent tons of time on the computer. One of the main things that occupied my time while I was on the computer was YouTube. I ended up coming across an AMAZING BAND called King the Kid. I basically became OBSESSED (of course...) I watched all their videos and found out they had an album, and were even on tour with some other YouTubers. So I then looked at the dates and saw they were coming to Arizona! Sooo I got tickets!! I constantly tweeted them saying things like about how I was so excited to see them and such, and they would respond! I wasn't used to being responded to (since I'm used to liking really huge bands like One Direction) so it took me off guard! haha.

Skipping forward to the day of the concert (which was the night before the first day of school ). My parents dropped me off and I stood in a line for probably a whole hour waiting to get inside. But once I was inside I honestly just like walked straight up to the very front and ended up being front row. King the Kid came out 2nd and let me tell you they were AMAZING! Here are some clips of a few of the songs... (please don't mind the poor audio and filming skills)

When they first came on...
Let's not talk about David's crazy leg....HAHA

Name in Lights...

Tale of a Secret Admirer...

TOASA drum solo...
Take note of the pick in David's mouth.

Cover of Ocean Avenue...

After some other YouTubers like Sam Tsui, Landon Austin, Luke Conard, and Alex Goot, performed and the show had ended, the KTK boys came out to visit! I first went to David, we hugged and he said "Heyy I saw you rocking out!" I died, and we continued chatting for a little. Then we took a picture together...

After that I went outside on a search for Ricky. Once I found him he gave me a hug and we took a picture.

After we took the picture I started walking away but he took my hand and held it out in front of him and said "And what might your name be?" so I told him, and he placed his other hand on top of mine and was like "Well It's nice to meet you Reed." Sooo I gave him another hug and blah blah blah. Then he whips out his phone and is like LET'S ALL MAKE A VLOG. So then basically everyone gathers around for the vlog annnnd here it is...

THEN it was time to find Jose, which wasn't very hard bc he was a couple feet away from Ricky... I went up to him and he was like "Oh hey I saw your tweets!" taken back I replied with "YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" and he said "Of course I know who you are!" so I said "Oh my gosh I feel so famous." and he said "You are famous." HAHAHA! After that we took our picture.

I knew I wanted a picture with all 3 of them together so I kind of waited until I saw that Ricky went to go put something in their van. When he came walking back over I was like "RICKYYYY" and met him half-way. He put his arm around my shoulder and said "Reed darling what can I do for you." I told him about how I wanted a picture with 3/3 so he gathered Jose, and David over and we took our lovely lovely photo.

After that we chatted for a little bit and I left (since I had school the next morning). So once I got home OBIVOUSLY I had to tweet about it, and I ended up getting a tweet back!

Basically they are such a great band, as people and talent wise. Their album is called Start Something and YOU ALL SHOULD GET IT BC IT IS GREAT. Recently on a Livestream they talked about how they are currently recreating the album and I'm so super excited to hear it!

Anyways it was a super fun night (I even went home with David's guitar pick!) and I'm really excited about King the Kids future. They will be big I guarantee it. Please get their album and help support them, I know they'd appreciate it.

Thanks for dealing with my weirdness...

Utahhhhh

Honestly not much happened in Utah, but the few things that did happen were GOLD. Every time I go to Utah my family stays at my grandparents house in Payson, which is a really small, quiet town. Everywhere you look there is green for miles! It's sooo pretty, but at the same time quite boring. Basically the only store they have is Walmart! So I'm sure you'll be able to understand why not very much happened while we were there ;)

We went up on a Saturday, and came back home on the next Saturday. But on Monday the One Direction music video for their new song "Best Song Ever" came out. And I KID YOU NOT, I probably watched it non stop for about 4 hours. HONESTLY. So I definitely take credit for helping break the VEVO 24 hour views record! :D But anyways, if you haven't seen it STOP RIGHT NOW AND WATCH IT.

Then on Tuesday and Wednesday we basically just hung out with cousins and had family dinners, and I also cut my mom, and aunt's hair. On one of those days though we went to a creek up in Payson Canyon! We brought up subway with us and it was delishhhh! Then we played in the creek and caught butterflies... check out my skills!

Then on Thursday I was planning on going out to try to find One Direction since they were in Utah at the same time, but the hard thing was that I didn't know where they would be! So I set my alarm and started getting ready constantly checking twitter, and chatting with other fans that were in Utah, trying to figure out where they were. Finally I got the best guess figured out and headed on my way. The hotel was a couple blocks away from temple square, and when I got there, there were quite a bit of fans gathered around the door, so I totally started getting anxious. I got out of the car and ran towards the group and squeezed my way to towards the front. The body guards kept coming out and telling us to back up and blah blah blah, but FINALLY little baby Lux, Lou, Paul, and Gemma came out! THEN HARRY STYLES WALKS RIGHT ON OUT AND I JUST STARTED CRYING. He was beautiful. It was sooooo surreal. He tried to take pictures with fans but security pulled him away and straight into the tour bus RIGHT PAST ME. I totally couldn't like smacked his head but that's mean ;)

After the tour bus pulled away I started hysterically sobbing and ran after the bus. My parents picked me up and then we followed the bus about halfway to the arena when we lost it. So we just kept going to the arena, and when we got there I went around to the back where there were a ton of fans and just looked through the fence hoping to see one of the boys. THEN MY DAD COMES UP TO ME AND HANDS ME A TICKET TO THE SHOW FOR THAT NIGHT. Now keep in mind I was very very veryyy convinced I would never see One Direction perform live ever in my lifetime, and the thought always made me really sad since I love the boys so much! So when my dad handed me the ticket I broke down into tears again. I was SO HAPPY.

After that I met up with my cousin Maddie and her friends until the show. We got some food, met other fans, and bought merch. During the show I was by myself but I had the GREATEST TIME OF MY LIFE. I cried, I laughed, I smiled till my cheeks hurt, and screamed at the top of my lungs. 5 Seconds of Summer was the opening act which was AMAZING SINCE I LOVE THEM. Here's a video taken of them performing "Heartbreak Girl" one of there songs that night (not my video).

When One Direction came out I literally thought I was gonna die! I got soooo light-headed. But they all sounded INCREDIBLE!  I think my favorite songs they performed were "Summer Love", "Teenage Dirtbag", and "She's Not Afraid". Here's a video of them singing "Heart Attack" (once again not my video).

All 9 boys put on an AMAZING show. Hopefully I'll be able to see them all perform again :)

The day after the concert I went to Lagoon with my best friend Heather, her older brother Tyler, and my brother Trapper. We didn't stay very long though due to the fact that we all got really sick and tired. My top 2 rides were Wicked and The Samurai!! They are SOOO trippy. If you ever have the chance to go to Lagoon, those rides are a must.

Here's a video of the Samurai...

And here's a video of Wicked...

LOL at the guy recording's grunts.

The next day we went home, which was both happy and sad. But as commonly said, "There's no place like home." :) Hope you all have a great week!!
Au revoir! xx

Girls Camp

This summer I was able to go to Girls Camp for my LDS church for my 6th, and last year. And this year they changed the way things worked. Usually cabins were divided by ward, and everything was run by adults. But this year cabins were divided by certification year, and all the oldest girls were assigned to cabins in pairs as "cabin moms" . So my best friend Heather, and I were paired together over a group of 8, 13 year old girls.

The camp experience started as usual... with bored bus selfies. Things got pretty cray.

Once we arrived at camp things were instantly crazy, and I knew that we definitely had our work cut out for us. All the youth leaders got there about an hour before everyone else, but all of our stuff was stuck with them. So while we were supposed to be decorating our cabin we were left running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Finally everyone else (and our luggage) got to camp and we found all our girls and took them up to our cabin. We all started getting to get to know each other, and all of our girls seemed really quiet. BUT OH BOY WERE WE WRONG ABOUT THAT. Turns out we had the craziest bunch. So that was interesting to say in the least.

The second day we went on our hike. Now you see, I'm not very physically fit, and I was exhausted after the first 10 minutes of our 3 hour hike. But aside from that it was pretty good.

After this we were able to have our one and only shower! Which was great!.. until it started RAINING. I was pretty upset about it, but luckily it stopped not too long after it started. Next in line on our schedules was COPE, which consisted of a bunch off team building activities. It was loads of fun.

For this activity you had to try and climb up the net, then go back down on the other side. Which believe me is more difficult than it both looks and sounds.

This one was more complicated. But basically the whole team had to stand on the platforms and beams while passing the next beam to be placed so you all could cross that one, and so on and so forth. But if someone fell you had to start over.

For this one there were two wires that started relatively close to each other but grew farther apart as you went along. You had to stand on one wire while your partner stood on the other, and you both had to support each other trying to make it all the way down the wires while keeping your balance.

I mean I think this one is pretty self explanatory, but you were put in a harness and kind of pulled up but and the same time you kind of had to do it yourself pulling yourself up the logs, one to the next, using your partner as a tool.

For this one someone had to go through the tires, and the team had to help the person through by holding the tires still and pushing her body through.

This was just a couple of the girls singing camp songs.

We got through most of the activities when it started sprinkling.....

Which was no big deal...

UNTIL IT STARTED POURING.

At that point we had to walk back to main camp in the pouring rain which was NO FUN, and I thought I was going to die. Once we got back to the cabin we all changed into dry clothes and chilled bc the leaders put us on lock down until the rain stopped. But to be honest, that moment walking back to camp in the pouring rain was probably the most miserable moment of my life. You see, I hate the rain to begin with, but it was a LOT of rain. It also soaked through my backpack and got all my papers wet, ruined my shirt, and broke my camera. So after that point I was no longer able to take pictures for the remainder of camp. Which was pretty lame.

The next couple days consisted of the spiritual night (which was great), testimony night, and many MANY camp songs. If I'm honest I think the thing I'm going to miss the most about girls camp is the camp songs. They are all just so fun, loud, and obnoxious. Haha :) Well in conclusion, camp was fun although it was a lot of hard work. But I was VERY happy when I got home. My camp years will be something that I will remember for the rest of my life, and I'm grateful for all the things I've experienced there.

Until next time friends...
Au revoir! xx
